Camp Marimeta for Girls

A Terrific Tuesday at Marimeta!

Dearest Marimeta Families and Friends,
I LOVE IT when a plans comes together! Despite a few thunderstorms, all of our plans for this session have come together! Yesterday we had a plethora of lovely food from Pancakes to Chicken and Egg Salad lunch to a wonderful penne pasta dinner. Today we had cinnamon rolls and assorted cereals and yogurt and fruit for breakfast and tacos and burritos for lunch! It’s still a secret for the girls… but Dirkee Chicken and red potatos and parsley is planned for dinner. Alberts wonderful chicken with those delicious dirkee French fried onions on top! Hmmm I’m getting hungry just typing this and I just had two burritos!
In previous years of letters from the lodge, food was always a major topic… so I had to throw in a few meals for those who miss that part!!

Yesterday was gorgeous between the rain drops and prior to a late afternoon waterfront cooling off period, we planned some fabulous skits that will be performed soon! What’s really going to be cool is that the skits will be performed by our individual cabins in different styles… opera, circus, soap opera, foreign language and many others. What our girls do not know is that they all have the same skit… it’s the presentation that will be different. It’s going to be too funny!! We can’t wait, yet we are waiting for it to be cooler for the performances. Please do not mention this in your email to your campers!

Last night we had a dry enough evening for our annual counselor hunt! It’s not only fun to run around camp in groups… it also gives you a chance to meet everyone!
Our girls are doing fabulous with the change over and I’m keeping my fingers crossed.. but could this be another session of no homesickness??? I think refreshing the cabins with a few counselor changes and the organization of my administrative staff has lent to all of the lovely success’s that we are experiencing this summer! That along with a wonderful group of camp parents that we have the pleasure of working with, all contribute to a Marvelous Marimeta Summer!
Keep those cards and letters coming in! We love them! Love to all, Sandy
