At Camp Marimeta we have different age groups that you will be divided into. We have 3 at Marimeta- Ranchers, Dudes and Pioneers!
Our Ranchers are our youngest campers. If you are in 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade you will be a Rancher! The coolest thing about being a Rancher is that you are one of the coolest kids in camp! You will have at least 3 and most likely 4 counselors with you in your cabin and when you get to camp your bed will be made and your bags will already be unpacked!
Your counselors will help you to pick out the super fun activities that you get to choose. There are some that you have to take- you will have swimming each day, tennis and kayaking and canoeing one day and also a great activity called land sports where you get to try out ALL the land sports we have at camp!
If you are in 5th or 6th grade, you will belong to our Dudes! When you are old enough to be a Dude, you will have a later bedtime and will have the choice of an extra activity because you do not have to take Land Sports. You do have to take swimming (which is awesome at Marimeta) and you will get to take tennis and kayaking and canoeing.
Lots of you will be camp ‘big sisters’ at this age too! Yo- Dude- get excited for camp!
Then we have our Pioneers – the 7th, 8th and 9th graders! Once you get to this age group you get all kinds of really fun pioneer privileges – from staying up at night, to playing tennis under the flood lights,
to movies in the rec hall… the list goes on and on.
You also get to go on a fantastic trip once you get to this age! The 7th graders go to the Wisconsin Dells for a thrill-a-minute trip; the 8th graders go to Mackinaw Island (one of the best places on earth) and the 9th graders get to go and live on a sailboat on Lake Superior for 3 days! WOW!
